10^th International Demonstration Fair of Machines and Equipment for the Mining, Processing and Building Industries EXPO Mokrá 2014.

Fair will be held between June 10 – 12, 2014, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., in the Mokrá quarry next to Brno.

This quarry was lent for this fair by the Českomoravský cement company.

Fair EXPO Mokrá

EXPO Mokrá 2012: Mud, Puddles and Happy End

Maybe just to assure us that Mokrá ("Wetville") has been given its name rightfully, or maybe it was just a coincidence: the weather had waited for two months to let all the rain pour down just before the exhibition opened. The stands were being constructed under heavy rain and the amount of water and mud kept gradually increasing. This situation, of course, gave rise to concerns of problem-free exhibit transport to the grounds and, above all, of the exhibitor reactions...cold temperatures and wind do not bring smile to any-one's face. Let's be honest – on Monday, before the exhibition was to open, the stands prepared for the exhibitors looked they were about to drown in the mud. In spite all of that we still hoped the weather would change. On Tuesday, June 5, the 9th year of the exhibition was ceremoniously open.

The first day was really cold and wet which impacted the number of visitors. Umbrellas and boots were a must. But some exhibitors were actually happy about it. Customers spent more time at the stands and paid more attention to the exhibitors which had a positive impact on concluding business deals. And as you surely know: every cloud has a silver lining. On the second day, the rain backed off, the puddles gradually dried up and the mood in Mokrá improved. The number of visitors grew and at noon there was a large crowd. The stands were busy, visitors admired the machines working away and parking places were hard to find on the adjacent parking lot. On the last day of the exhibition, the sun dried up the last puddle and the memories of bad weather with it and the great, unique atmosphere of the open air exhibition was truly felt everywhere. Thanks must go to the 123 exhibitors who participated this year. We would like thank them all for coming here in spite of the persisting economic crisis. We are very content with this number because it almost equals that of the prior exhibition. Latest technology brought by companies both from the CR and abroad was on display. This year, almost all the firms providing screening and crushing equipment took part as well as those presenting drilling and cutting technologies. Large transportation vehicles were represented by Tatra. The company also prepared a special track for demonstration drives on lower levels of the quarry. Machines designated for recycling, screens, scales and a lot of other equipment for ecologic operation were on display, as well. As usual, at this type of exhibition, the machines were there to be tested during operation on an area of 70,000 m². The fact the exhibition still attracts the professional public is testified to by the high number of visitors. This year, more than 8,500 people came to Mokrá which is somewhat less than in 2010. This was surely due to the bad weather during the first day of the exhibition.

All the exhibition participants could enjoy accompanying adrenalin activities. ASP Group s.r.o. lent four-wheelers to those interested to ride around a specially landscaped area. Ivo Kaštan, who has taken part in Rally Dakar for nine times, made the fans of Czech motorcycling and all the other people happy by presenting the full glory of his special Dakar vehicle. Mr. Kašpar had another big surprise for all motor fans – eight industrial Rahier motorbikes, brand new products on the market, to be tried out all around the exhibition grounds as well as the in the rougher terrain of the quarry.

How to get to EXPO

If you are arriving by car (direction from Prague/Brno) use exit from highway D1 through Rohlenka (on arrival in the opposite direction use exit to Tvarožná and cross the bridge above the highway) and follow the road 430 to the direction to Brno turnoff to the Mokrá-Horákov:

For the arrival of trucks useing D1 from Prague use the exit number 201 - Brno-Slatina follow the Ripska street in the direction to the town center. At the first traffic lights turn right and continue along the main road to the roundabout - choose the first exit and follow the 430 road in the direction Vyskov to the turnoff to the Mokrá-Horákov:
